Hearts and Hooves of Lubbock

On January 31, 2008 two pitbulls dug under the fence where the minis lived and mauled one mini to death (Oreo - who was in his stall) and seriously injured 3 others. On February 17, 2008, Jolly, one of the original two minis, passed away from a blood clot that had developed in his right leg.

This page serves as a Tribute to these beautiful, caring minis, who only wanted to give to seniors and children a special magical moment.

Jollyeo Fund

A special fund has been established to assist people whose animals get attacked by a dog. Sometimes animals are put down after they are attacked by a dog not because they cannot survive, but because the owner cannot afford the vet bills. We would like to put a stop to this happening.

This fund has been created to honor the memory of Jolly and Oreo and at the same time help other animals and their owners. The details of how the fund will work are still being worked out, but we are going to proceed with raising awareness and funds.

We will be selling black and white awareness bracelets, Hearts and Hooves on side and Oreo and Jolly are on the other side. We have adult and youth bracelets. We are selling them for $5 each.

If anyone would like to help with this cause, please e-mail and we will give details. Also, if anyone owns a business that would like to sell the bands please let us know.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes on to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can play and run together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you once more look into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.
